Fundraising is a major part of Helping Hands, and a constant onus is put on our networks to provide funding so we don’t have to depend on our own families. We are very lucky to have major support from outside funders (Three Guineas Trust, Llyods TSB, Big Lottery, Children in Need, Cash for Kids and Community Foundation for NI) to arrange activities, programmes and for training & equipment.
Our main fundraising activities are greatly supported by Ballyrobert Vauxhall, Fona Cab and McCleans Bookmakers. Their support has been fantastic and has helped make our fundraising activities extremely successful. Helping Hands families are extremely grateful for their ongoing support and contribution.
We have two fundraising events each year. Which have been successful due to the amount of support we receive from local business and communities in our area...
Sponsored Walk and Night of Entertainment:
World Autism Awareness Day takes place in April and to celebrate the date and our families, we organise a sponsored walk in different areas and then the following night we celebrate our success by an evening of planned entertainment, where 300 people come to support Helping Hands.
In September in co-operation with the Queens Inn Golf Society we deliver a fantastic day of golf, with over 200 people taking part, this was then followed by Dinner and Entertainment, 2013 seen our most successful day which was held at Castlereagh Hills and was sponsored also by The Lewis Community Tavern, McConnell Kelly & Co Solicitors, Asda Dundonald & McDonalds Dundonald.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who either support our fundraisers or takes part, we would not be able to continue without their dedication to ensure we can provide all services to our families.
